Stop The Presses. Iranian Election Was Rigged?
Now here’s something liberal Democrat’s know about. Rigging elections, and brow-beating would-be conservative voters should they show up at the polls. Democrats are the self-appointed experts when it comes to this subject. Just ask them. “George Bush stole the election!”, they say. “Bush didn’t win the election! He had it handed to him by the Supreme Court!”, is another liberal diatribe. If that weren’t enough evidence of their expertise in calling out rigged elections, there’s this little nugget where several black thugs carrying sticks were harassing and intimidating voters of the conservative persuasion. We’ll take their word for it, that they know election fraud when they see it. Which brings us to the Iranian presidential election yesterday. The Obama administration’s stance on the election is to point out the blatantly obvious: the election was rigged. However, they don’t come right out and say it. Instead, in typical bureaucratic fashion, they say it “looks” like there was a little hanky-panky going on with the votes in the Islamic Republic. Nevertheless they point to the fact that challenger Mir Hussein Mousavi did not even win his home town and third candidate Mehdi Karoubi received less than one percent of the total vote. I happen to agree with the Obama administration on this one. People, no matter where they live, save maybe San Francisco, are
just not shallow enough to re-elect the sociopath Mahmoud Ahmadinjed. As is typical of the Obama administration, they try to put a happy face on every situation. In this case they say that they think the Ahmadinejad regime will look so bad after stirring hopes for democracy and subsequently squashing them, that Ahmadinejad may feel compelled to reach for the olive branch offered up by President Obama. We disagree on this point, as the Iranian regime will continue to snub the West while developing their nuclear arsenal. Obama is also “excited” by the dialogue taking place in Iran. What good is dialogue when your pseudo-democracy is rigged?
