Broke California May Do Away With Welfare

The socialist mecca of California is dead broke. Decades of spending taxpayer money on misguided social programs has brought the state to the brink of bankruptcy. In fact, most reports claim that California will not have the cash to pay its bills in July this year. From where can the state possibly get the money to avoid economic disaster? Putting an end to the great money giveaway known as welfare is a good start. California is running a $24.3 billion dollar deficit right now, and they have officially proposed doing away with the wasteful spending on welfare in an effort to save cash and pay down that deficit. This is the first idea to come out of California that actually makes sense. When you are in a hole, the first thing you need to do is stop digging. The simple truth of the matter is that when there is no money to pay the bills, there is no money to give away to lazy people either. This is economics 101 type stuff. It is simply mind-boggling why it would take so long for the supposed experts to put a real solution like this on the table. It’s not that the economists haven’t known all along that this would be a real solution. They have. Liberal politics has kept the real solution in the bag until now. It takes an economic disaster such as this for bureaucrats to finally face the facts and talk of real solutions, instead of simply paying the problem lip service. The money

has got to come from somewhere, and wasteful welfare spending is as good a place as any to start saving. Not only will the elimination of welfare help the state save money, but it will also take away the incentive for multi-generational welfare recipients. No welfare check in the mailbox? It’s time to get off your behind and learn a skill and contribute, instead of leaching off the system. Putting the brakes on welfare in California is a two-for-one winner.
