The Clown From Minnesota

Well it is finally over folks. The race for the golden senate seat in Minnesota has been decided by the state supreme court (similar to another election I recall). Former senator Norm Coleman conceded to the supreme court decision yesterday, effectively catapulting Al Franken to the senate. It will be official when Minnesota Governor TIm Pawlenty signs on the dotted line, which he is expected to do today. Speaking about the Cap and Trade bill recently passed in the House, Republican Senator Jim Inhofe from Oklahoma welcomed the ultra liberal actor/pretender into the Senate with these words. “I’ll tell you what a lot of people are thinking, and that is it looks like things are going to be over and we are going to get the clown from Minnesota. They are not going to get more than 35 votes. I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I don’t know the guy, but … for a living he is a clown. That’s what he does for a living.’’ Senator Inhofe is apparently referring to Senator-elect Franken’s career choice of “comedian”. If you are on the ultra left fringes, which is to say most Democrats these days, Al Franken practices humor. If you have any common sense whatsoever, Al Franken is just another cog in the liberal machine, spouting the same, tired rhetoric, with his cynical delivery style. The Clown from Minnesota now gives the Democrats in the Senate a 60 vote supermajority, which is filibuster-proof if all Democrats decide to vote the same way. The residents of Minnesota should be ashamed and embarrassed, since when it is all said and done, they elected a clown to represent them in the United States Senate.
